GREAT WALL OF CHINA History of the Great Wall of China: The Great Wall of China is the national military defense project in the cold weapon war era with the longest time and the largest amount of construction in the world. Built as a gift from King Songtsan Gampo to his bride to be, this thirteen-story palace has more than 1,000 rooms and covers more than 130,000 square meters. The stone walls measure 3 meters thick on average. Nestled within this incredible stone and wooden structure are the articles and artifacts of Tibetan history, religion and culture.
